Every holiday season, Lindsay Holy Family School has a friendly ‘food fight’ with Humphrey St. Francis’s students. All students and staff are challenged to bring food donations to help stock area food banks. Scores are totaled by weight. The real challenge is to bring nutritious, tasty food that still weighs up well. Bottled water weighs a lot, but doesn’t necessarily help a hungry family. Food was divided to send to the Albion food pantry, and Simon House in Columbus. Total pounds collected is divided by the number of students to help determine a ‘winner.’ Even without final results tallied, it is known that the real winners are hungry families that the food will help over the holiday season.
